PAOLO MASELLA
Paolo is a professional actor, singer/songwriter, and a dedicated dreamer. Born and raised in Queens, New York, and surrounded by the instruments his father had brought from Argentina, Paolo began picking them up and teaching himself to play, falling in love with music. Paolo moved to Miami to study music professionally and was accepted into A Cappella Academy, where he worked alongside members of Pentatonix, while starring in musicals, plays, and operas, including roles like Danny Zuko in Grease. After graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic, Paolo lived alone and spent each day writing a new song, rediscovering his passion for storytelling through music. In time, he found himself returning to jingle writing, and just like his dad, fell in love with the craft all over again.
Paolo Masella (he/him) was born and raised in Queens, New York, the first of his brothers to be born in America after his parents moved from Peru in pursuit of a better life. Music runs in his family: his father was a professional songwriter and performer who toured across Argentina and Peru with his band. Growing up, Paolo would quietly explore the instruments scattered around the their home, teaching himself how to play when nobody was watching. It wasn't until his father suffered a serious accident that Paolo played him everything he had learned in secret. It was one of the first times he ever saw his father cry.
That moment sparked something bigger for Paolo, a lifelong love for music and the arts. He moved to Miami to study music professionally, going on to perform at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall and Disney's Candlelight Processional. He earned a spot at A Capella Academy, and has worked with members of Pentatonix. He spent his teenage years performing leading roles in musical, plays, and operas, taking on characters like Danny Zuko (Grease) and Gavroche (Les Misérables). He has trained with musical minds like Jacob Collier and was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music for songwriting.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, and living on his own at just 18, spent every day in quarantine writing a new song. That period of isolation reignited his love for music and storytelling. Just like his dad, Paolo found himself drawn back into the world of the performing arts. Now a professional actor, singer, and songwriter, Paolo is driven by the same spark that first lived in his childhood home.
