Chris has always believed that the magic of theatre doesn't just happen onstage; it's build from the ground up, piece by piece, with care and intention. With years of experience managing productions, organizing live events, and supporting youth arts programs, Chris brings structure to the storybook. He's passionate about creating spaces where young artists can explore, grow, and feel genuinely supported. Whether it's planning a production timeline or making sure rehearsals can run smoothly, Chris is always working behind the scenes so the spotlight can stay right where it belongs: on the next generation of artists who will continue to thrive in our vibrant community.
Chris Kolde (he/him) grew up with a deep love for the arts, not just as a spectator, but as someone who saw the magic in making it all happen. Raised in the vibrant Conejo Valley, he found his place in the world backstage, where storytelling came to life through logistics, lighting cues, and organized chaos.
From an early age, he gravitated toward theatre, not only as a creative outlet, but as a calling. For many years, he found his place on stage performing for many different audiences. However, in recent years, he has made the full switch to behind the curtain: managing productions, coordinating teams, and connecting communities in ways that were deemed impossible.
Outside of work, he’s the kind of person who can't pass up a beach day with friends, lives off Iced Caramel Lattes, and has an ever-growing collection of notebooks for half-written business ideas.

I’m passionate about Storybook Lane Theater because I believe in the power of storytelling to spark imagination, build confidence, and create community, especially for young performers. There’s something truly special about the magic that happens when kids step into a role, take a bow, and see their creativity come to life onstage. At Storybook Lane, we don’t just put on shows, we create a space where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to dream big.
